Archiving

What is Archiving?

Archiving establishes a clean slate for the new academic year in your teacher's Teacher Dashboards, and for students in Drive, while preserving access to last year's work.

How does it work?

The archiving process will remove the links to last year's classes from your Teachers' Dashboard views (teachers can still access all the old student content through Drive), and move students' folders from this year into a "My Archive" folder. Note that Teachers will no longer have access to their 2016 classes via TD once the Archive process begins.

No data is lost. Students retain access to all their data. Only the location of that data changes. Archiving does not affect Sites or Blogs, nor does it affect files stored outside Teacher Dashboard folders.

What do schools need to do?

In most cases, nothing. The archiving process is managed by Hapara and the Sydney Catholic Schools' ICT Team. No intervention is required from Schools or the local TD Manager. If there is an issue archiving your students’ data then we may need to contact you.

Archiving will be performed from Wednesday December 21 2016 through to Friday, January 13 2017. Read on for more information.

What happens after archiving is complete?

Following the successful archiving of 2016 data, schools will have Teacher Dashboard setup for 2017. See here for more information.
